七、Grease the starter bearing
Starter bearings generally use self-lubricating bearings or porous oil-impregnated bearing alloys. It is an oil-containing anti-friction alloy made of metal powder (iron or copper powder) after mixing, pressing, sintering, and immersing in lubricating oil at a certain temperature. Material. It is mainly used in the occasions where it is difficult to refuel, the light load is large at high speed or low speed, and the reversing is required frequently. When the starter is maintained, do not use gasoline to clean the bearing to avoid diluting the lubricating oil. It should be scrubbed with a clean cloth or cotton yarn; even more grease should not be added, because the bearing clearance is relatively small, and the grease cannot be retained in the bearing. Falling on the brush and commutator after exiting will cause the starter to be weak, and in severe cases, the commutator will be ablated. But you can drop a few drops of GL-385/90 gear oil on the bearing. After driving 50,000 kilometers, use gasoline to clean the bearings, and then put them in GL-3 gear oil at about 120° for 1 hour, which will make the use effect better.。
八、Dig Lubricating Clutch Release Bearings
Most of the domestic automobile clutches use closed side pressure ball release bearings, and the selected greases are mostly calcium-based grease and calcium-sodium-based grease. When most maintenance personnel lubricate the release bearing, they heat and melt 50% of the lubricating oil and grease, and then put the release bearing into the oil to immerse it, fill it up, and then cool it. This approach, while accomplishing the raising task, is not very effective. Because heating will destroy the organizational structure of calcium-based grease, the lubricating performance of the grease will decrease, resulting in premature wear of the release bearing and shortening its service life. The correct way is to use the injector to fill。
九、Grease the cylinder head gasket
Some repairmen like to apply a layer of butter on the cylinder head gasket when installing the cylinder head gasket, thinking that this can increase the sealing performance of the engine. As everyone knows, doing so is not only useless, but harmful. As we all know, the cylinder head gasket is an important sealing material between the cylinder block and the cylinder head of an automobile engine. It is not only required to seal the high temperature and high pressure gas generated in the cylinder, but also must seal the cooling through the cylinder head and the cylinder with a certain pressure and flow rate. Water and oil, so it is required to pay special attention to its sealing quality when disassembling and assembling the cylinder head gasket. If butter is applied to the cylinder head gasket, when the cylinder head bolts are tightened, part of the butter will be squeezed into the cylinder water channel and oil channel, and the butter left between the cylinder gasket will flow into the cylinder and burn due to the high temperature when the cylinder is working. The other part will form carbon deposits between the joint surface of the cylinder block and the cylinder head. Under the action of high pressure and high temperature, it is easy to break down and burn through the cylinder head gasket, resulting in engine leakage. Therefore, do not apply butter when installing the cylinder head gasket。
十、Apply grease to rubber parts
When some maintenance personnel install some rubber hoses (mostly in the cooling system), in order to make the installation easy, they apply grease to the inner surfaces of the rubber hoses or the outer surfaces of the corresponding mechanical joints for lubrication. This approach does make the installation and restoration work easier and easier, but the contact between the rubber parts and the grease will accelerate the aging and permanent deformation of the rubber parts, thus affecting the performance and service life of the rubber hose. Therefore, this approach Not advisable. To achieve the purpose of easy installation, it is safer to apply cooling water to the corresponding parts。
